I have adored Laura Clery for years， and I enjoyed her first book a lot but I could definitely tell there were things she held back from talking about even though there was a lot of shocking revelations。 Now， in “Idiots”， Laura let’s us in on some of the things she was ashamed to tell us in the last book。 More importantly， she tackles her own experience with pregnancy， motherhood， and marriage and doesn’t hold back with the struggles that she has faced with all 3。 Cheating， drugs， placenta eatin I have adored Laura Clery for years， and I enjoyed her first book a lot but I could definitely tell there were things she held back from talking about even though there was a lot of shocking revelations。 Now， in “Idiots”， Laura let’s us in on some of the things she was ashamed to tell us in the last book。 More importantly， she tackles her own experience with pregnancy， motherhood， and marriage and doesn’t hold back with the struggles that she has faced with all 3。 Cheating， drugs， placenta eating， work/mom balance， postpartum depression， and a 90 year old “muse” are al talked about in length。 I’d this very different then any other memoir out there？ No。 However Laura’s wit is what makes her life experience very entertaining to read about。 When we get to the chapter about her experience with realizing her son has autism， her rawness comes through and despite her humor you really feel how much she loves her children。 。。。more

Thank you net galley， the publisher and author Laura Clery for letting me review this book！ I read idiot when it first came out and when I heard Laura was coming out with another I was so freaking excited！ And this book did not disappoint for me。 I found it so relatable and hard to put down。 It had me laughing and crying。 I hope she comes out with another someday！

Idiots by Laura Clery is a candid collection of essays about her life as a mother of two young children。 I hadn’t read her previous book， Idiot， but I get the sense that she covered much of her life prior to having children and this book picks up on where that one ends。 I have followed her on social media for a little while and appreciate her candor， creativity， and crass humor。 There is some content overlap in the book and her social media。 I really enjoyed much of this book， some parts didn’t Idiots by Laura Clery is a candid collection of essays about her life as a mother of two young children。 I hadn’t read her previous book， Idiot， but I get the sense that she covered much of her life prior to having children and this book picks up on where that one ends。 I have followed her on social media for a little while and appreciate her candor， creativity， and crass humor。 There is some content overlap in the book and her social media。 I really enjoyed much of this book， some parts didn’t work well for me。 The pacing was a little frenetic at times and like she was trying to one-up herself with her experiences stacked on each other。 I hate criticizing memoirs because it takes so much for someone to put themselves out there and expose their lives and shortcomings， potentially putting themselves and their loved ones at risk for derision and dissection。 I really appreciated her honesty and vulnerability。 I especially loved the parts where she discussed her family， especially her children and cousin who struggled with addiction。 I found it fascinating to have a backseat to her life as someone so successful on social media， independently pursuing creative endeavors on her time。 As a mother to two young children， but with a desk job， my life looks very different， but also our struggles with parenthood raising children are the same。 Thank you Gallery Books and NetGalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

Laura Clery follows her first novel with a follow-up that focuses on her current day struggles and joys of motherhood， marriage， and family dynamics。I’ve been a follower of Laura for a long time and have always laughed and enjoyed the raunch and comedic punch she puts in her videos。 As a mother， her deeply moving video of postpartum depression left me sobbing and feeling seen。 This novel is no different and she takes the readers through a rollercoaster of laughter， tears， and “WTF” moments。 Her Laura Clery follows her first novel with a follow-up that focuses on her current day struggles and joys of motherhood， marriage， and family dynamics。I’ve been a follower of Laura for a long time and have always laughed and enjoyed the raunch and comedic punch she puts in her videos。 As a mother， her deeply moving video of postpartum depression left me sobbing and feeling seen。 This novel is no different and she takes the readers through a rollercoaster of laughter， tears， and “WTF” moments。 Her raw honesty and vulnerability is admirable。 The way she speaks about motherhood and how her followers are helping her just as much as she helps us hits home so well。 I devoured the book in an afternoon and felt like I was sitting and having coffee with a close friend。 。。。more

Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy！In 2019 I was granted early access to Clery's first book。 I had not heard of her prior， but loved her stories that I began following her on social media after the first book。 I was so happy to see that she has now written a second story with recent updates in her life， mainly the addition of two children。 I follow her Tik Toks and knew she shared updated regarding her son Alfie。 I appreciated Clery's raw emotion in this read and how she and her husband Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy！In 2019 I was granted early access to Clery's first book。 I had not heard of her prior， but loved her stories that I began following her on social media after the first book。 I was so happy to see that she has now written a second story with recent updates in her life， mainly the addition of two children。 I follow her Tik Toks and knew she shared updated regarding her son Alfie。 I appreciated Clery's raw emotion in this read and how she and her husband processed the news and vowed to be better more present parents。 In social media， we can get so caught up on scrolling that we may not realize that we haven't been present with others。 Laura's new stories in this book at had me laughing so hard， though I am not a mother， I still thought these stories were so funny about her birthing experiences。 I also loved her family stories about her sister and mother and how she grew up。 So many great essays， I highly recommend！ 。。。more

Idiots is a follow up to Laura Clery's first book Idiot （which I haven't read）。 I should start off by saying that if you are easily offended you might not be the target audience but if you're a fan of Laura's you will love it！ I LOVED it but it could be a bit much for other people。 Laura made me laugh and cry， but mostly cry。 She talked about the births of both of her children but more in depth about her daughter Poppy。 Why has no one else talked about the fourth trimester？ I truly felt like she Idiots is a follow up to Laura Clery's first book Idiot （which I haven't read）。 I should start off by saying that if you are easily offended you might not be the target audience but if you're a fan of Laura's you will love it！ I LOVED it but it could be a bit much for other people。 Laura made me laugh and cry， but mostly cry。 She talked about the births of both of her children but more in depth about her daughter Poppy。 Why has no one else talked about the fourth trimester？ I truly felt like she was talking to me as a friend。Laura also talked about being diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 34。 I recently was diagnosed at the age of 31 and it's changed my life immensely。 Her words were so raw and I shed so many tears reading that chapter。 She was able to talk about it in a way I most likely never could。Idiots was crude， hilarious and emotional。 Thank you to Netgalley and Simon & Schuster Canada for the ARC。 。。。more
